Capital Blue Cross adds Geisinger to Medicare Advantage network

Listen to this articleCapital Blue Cross has added Geisinger hospitals and clinics to its Medicare Advantage network.
Capital Blue Cross said, effective Jan. 1, its Medicare Advantage members will have full, in-network access to Geisinger’s 130 primary care and specialty clinic sites and 10 hospital campuses.
“Capital Blue Cross is committed to going the extra mile for our Medicare Advantage members, and this historic arrangement with Geisinger reflects that commitment,” said Patricia Higgins, senior vice president of Healthcare Delivery at Capital Blue Cross. “We will continue working hard to provide the strong access, affordability, flexibility, and benefits Medicare beneficiaries and all of our other members and customers have come to expect from Capital.”
Capital said it has a variety of Medicare Advantage plans to fit different needs and budgets, including $0 premium HMOs and PPOs which offer benefits including dental, vision, hearing, transportation and over-the-counter allowances.
The Medicare annual enrollment period runs through Dec. 7.
