Douglas Hughes oversees Grand View’s health network, which is located in northern Bucks and Montgomery counties. It includes over 350 physicians and 1900 employees in an area with a population of roughly 450,000.
He has been in his current position for two years.
As a nurse he enjoys being “where the action is”. “When you have a loved one in a hospital or needing access to a physician or service you want to know that the people leading that organization understand how vitally important, we are to a community. Grand View’s goal is to keep patients close to home, where they can heal surrounded by family. Being able to see patients and families at the point of care is something I enjoy,” Hughes said.
He is very proud to be part of the opening of the 190,000 square foot addition to Grand View Hospital. He said it was the end result of almost four years of planning, design, and finally construction of the new patient care platform that will serve the health network’s community for many years to come. “It’s a beautiful building, filled with amazing staff that help care for the patients in a modern environment,” Hughes said.
