Van Cleef Engineering Associates
For nearly three decades, Mark Bahnick has served as a principal at Van Cleef Engineering Associates in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.
As a senior partner, Bahnick is responsible for senior planning and project execution.
“Our team includes 265 engineers that provide site civil, municipal, water/wastewater and highway design services throughout eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” Bahnick said.
He is also the branch manager at the Bethlehem office and works with staff and clients to meet project needs and achieve objectives.
Suitable land for development is among this year’s most significant challenges, Bahnick said, along with public perceptions and willingness to welcome single family, apartment and warehouse projects into their communities.
“We are now working on Lehigh Valley infill projects [land redevelopment and underused suburban sites] where development opportunities still exist. We are also involved with numerous projects north and west of the Lehigh Valley, where suitable land is still available and municipalities are more receptive to high quality development projects,” Bahnick said.
Among Van Cleef’s major projects are the design completion and approval for Trailside Village in Forks Township, Northampton County.
“This significant project is currently under construction along Sullivan Trail, and will include 440 apartment units and 28,000 square feet of retail [and] office space.”
