Lehigh Valley SCORE
SCORE is an all-volunteer national organization engaged in supporting small business start, grow and excel via business education and mentoring. Each chapter is fairly autonomous but always operates within the guidelines set by SCORE. As chair of the Lehigh Valley chapter, Girish Sud’s responsibilities are leading and motivating volunteers, setting the vision and strategic direction, and overseeing the leadership team. His key focus areas are engagement with volunteers, client, the business community and partners.
He has been in his current position for eight years.
Sud cited several significant professional accomplishments in 2023. He said the Lehigh Valley chapter maintained a high level of commitment to small businesses. It served 400 clients with 950 individual mentoring sessions. The chapter hosted 172 in person and online workshops, which were attended by 2,800 people. Fifty-seven new businesses and 556 new jobs were added in the community. The chapter also partnered with local organizations to increase outreach and launched a fully sponsor -funded billboard campaign to promote awareness of SCORE.
