Glynis Fitzgerald is president of Alvernia University, a role she has held at the Bernadine Franciscan Sisters private, Reading-based university since 2023.
“The responsibilities are vast and vary by the day, but I seek to approach each with a mindset of service, faith and authenticity. All of which help to build trust, and trust is critical to my role. With that focus I know I am doing things for the right reasons and can feel confident in my decisions,” Fitzgerald said in a previous Power List.
She considers being named the new president of Alvernia University in 2023 among her most significant professional accomplishments.
“Each day brings new opportunities to work with community and business leaders, university staff, faculty and students, and our Bernadine Franciscan Sisters leadership to create the university’s future. Together we will increase access for people in our community to achieve higher education degrees leading to successful careers for them and further enhance economic development in our region,” she said in list.
