ATAS International, Inc.
For 30 years James Bus has been executive vice president at ATAS International, Inc. in Upper Macungie Township. ATAS is a manufacturer of metal walls, metal roofing systems and accessories used in design build and construction applications, according to the company’s website.
“My main focus is on the operational areas of the business. I am heavily involved in new product development and product improvement,” Bus said.
Bus is responsible for decisions about capital expenditures and works closely with the quality assurance manager to maintain ISO certification. The operation managers at six ATAS locations work through production, scheduling, staffing and other issues, while Bus releases orders to ensure appropriate levels of raw materials are available for manufacture.
Achievements in 2024 include new product development coming from his team and the commission of a new production line in ATAS’s University Park, Illinois facility. Founded in 1963 inside the family home of Jacobus “Jack” P. Bus, Aluminum Trim and Shapes began as a siding and trim installation company and over the past six decades has grown to a leading manufacturer of metal building envelope panels, the company’s website said.
