Hotel Bethlehem
For 26 years Bruce Haines has been a managing partner of Hotel Bethlehem in the city’s historic downtown. Located on the “First House” of Bethlehem site in 1741, Hotel Bethlehem is adjacent to the newly established UNESCO World Heritage Site of Moravian Settlements, the Hotel Bethlehem website said.
In his role, Haines is responsible to oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operation “on behalf of my 12 other partners that helped to preserve the hotel 25 years ago from becoming a senior citizen apartment building,” he said.
The destination is popular with visitors and residents alike where weddings, meetings and events, are hosted along with regular and special occasion Sunday brunch. The Hotel Bethlehem operates a tap room, restaurant, ice cream parlor and Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop.
The expansion and launch of new extended stay suites and a spa in the building across from the hotel on Main Street is among the most significant business achievements in 2024.
“There are nine new suites. It was also a major accomplishment to hit a ‘grand slam’ and earn recognition as USA Today’s Best Historic Hotel in America for the fourth year,” Haines said.
