Don Cunningham leads the non-profit, public-private coalition for regional economic development that is responsible for marketing the Lehigh Valley’s economic assets. The organization seeks to attract and retain employers in key strategic sectors and to attract and retain skilled talent that employers need. “Our primary goal is to ensure that Lehigh Valley employers can prosper and that everyone who lives in the Lehigh Valley can find good jobs that meet their skill and education level,” Cunningham said.
He has been in his current position 12 years.
Cunningham said in 2023, LVEDC worked with partners to build a coalition of the Lehigh Valley’s technology companies to collaborate on how to grow the sector; writing the next chapter of the region’s legacy of technological innovation and improving national security by reshoring the production of semiconductors. LVEDC also assisted in the creation of the Industrial Training and Education Consortium of the Lehigh Valley, a partnership of industry, education, government, and others to promote careers in advanced manufacturing.
