Howard Hanna the Frederick Group
As broker/owner, Doug Frederick has steered Howard Hanna the Frederick Group in South Whitehall Township for the past 19 years.
In his position Frederick manages all aspects of his general brokerage real estate business.
From hiring, training and managing staff to long-range planning and keeping tabs on market conditions, Frederick said hiring the best people is the most consistent solution to drive his company’s success and longevity.
Among this year’s challenges has been “finding and motivating people to make the effort to be successful. After years of technology and virtual platforms we’ve needed to get people back to accepting that success comes from the activity and not the thought. Keeping people engaged and enthused is our main objective,” Frederick said.
A major project this year was hiring a sales manager and reconsidering the firm’s “organizational chart.”
“Redeveloping a recruiting platform to be attractive to current and future members of the team” was another major project.
Frederick said being open to and adapting to change is important – however change should be tempered by evaluating if the changes are worthwhile – before making wholesale shifts in company operations and procedures.
